Eitrium expands to Finland and acquires Ab Keymet Oy

Eitrium has acquired all shares in Ab Keymet Oy, a metal company specializing in the electronics and aerospace industries. The sellers have reinvested part of their purchase price in Eitrium and will continue to run the company.

Keymet is a subcontractor of metal products, primarily for the electronics and aerospace industries, where the company manufactures smaller series of niche metal products including plates, frames, panels and spectrometer boxes. The Jakobstad-based company was founded in 2006, and is run by Janne Vähäkangas, who has developed the company with great success. Today, the company offers the entire value chain for manufacturing. In 2021, the company had sales of approximately EUR 4.4 million and generated an EBITDA of approximately EUR 1.3 million.

“Keymet is a fantastically well-run and professional company, with a very competent and driven management. They work with the most demanding customers in advanced industries such as the aerospace industry, which places the highest demands on precision in manufacturing and tight tolerances. We have been very impressed since we first started the dialogue with the company and are now looking forward to continuing on the established path and reaching new heights. I am also very happy that the sellers have chosen to reinvest part of the purchase price in Eitrium, therefore has a continued ownership interest and will also be part of our continued journey in Eitrium.” says Per Brugge, CEO of Eitrium.

“The reason we chose Eitrium is their autonomous business model and that they invest with a long-term perspective. Eitrium's business model and values go hand in hand with Keymet. It is of great importance to me that the staff can feel safe with the change of ownership and that Keymet can continue to be run with a maintained culture.” says Janne Vähäkangas, CEO of Ab Keymet Oy.
